DRAFT. This page is a skeleton. It needs review by a Brunei lawyer before anyone relies on it. It is not legal advice. Items marked OPEN are decisions that have not been made yet.

Terms of service

DRAFT skeleton of the terms for using Venuvo.

Who we are

  • OPEN: the legal name of the operator, its registration number and its address.
  • OPEN: contact details for legal notices.

What Venuvo is

  • A web app for customers, venues, organizers and vendors in Brunei to find each other, agree a booking in a thread and keep a record of it.
  • Venuvo is an intermediary. The booking is between the customer and the seller (see the marketplace terms).

Accounts

  • An account is needed to send a request or claim a booth or seat.
  • To be drafted by a lawyer: who may open an account, keeping sign-in details safe, and what happens when an account is suspended.

How a booking works today

  • A customer sends a request. The seller replies with a quote in the booking thread. The customer accepts the live quote.
  • Payment is by bank transfer to the seller's own account. The customer uploads proof and the seller marks the payment as received. Venuvo does not hold customer money in this version.
  • A quote is valid for 72 hours by default and an item hold lasts 30 minutes by default. Sellers can extend them.

Prices and fees

  • Sellers set their own prices in BND. Each seller sees only its own price lines; the customer sees all lines and the total.
  • OPEN: the wording about Venuvo's fee and how fees are shown to customers. To be drafted by a lawyer.

Acceptable use and content

  • To be drafted by a lawyer: acceptable use, what happens to messages and uploads, and the licence for photos and logos that sellers upload.
  • Messages exist only inside a booking or request thread, and only the parties of that thread can read them.

Liability, changes and governing law

  • To be drafted by a lawyer: limits of liability, how the terms can change, notice of changes.
  • OPEN: governing law and where disputes are heard.
